Fly me to the moon

First of all I wanted to post a brief note regarding my blog. It's been now some weeks that I started to write about different sort of things and I really would like to make this place as much interactive as possible. By this I mean that I would like you to feel free to participate with your comments when you got interested or amusted by one of my post. Please share with me your reactions, make your own tops or complete mines, make suggestions...
It is hard to keep the pace of posting on a regular basis. All the contribution you can make is what makes this blog a place you will like to go spend some time evry day!

And now here comes a top that I was thinking about today: dream hollidays trips. I guess I spend way to much time at work making plans for cool trips I'd like to do, so the least I could do was to share it with you!

#1 Take the trans-siberian train and go until Mongolia
#2 Make a road trip in a vintage car in the western states of the USA (kind of Thelma & Louise style but without the jump at the end)
#3 Japan, I NEED to go there very soon!
#4 Go chase the Auroras in Iceland
#5 Explore South America (kind of Ernesto Guevara style, but I'm not a huge fan of the motorcycle thing; so would probably take buses...)
#6 Mauritania- Mali- Burkina Faso
#7 Go back to Australia and go see this big red desert montain thing
#8 Lebanon, it looks like such a tiny country but with so many beautiful things to see (and amazing food!)
#9 Wine tasting in the french vineyards
#10 Explore India in trains (I love trains and India is definitely the ultimate destination for train lovers)

Canada is a strange country

Sorry for this long absence but I was on a trip in Canada (Montreal to be more specific). I thought you would be interested to know a little bit more about the customs of these people. It's always good to be well informed when going in foreign territories...

#1 Each one pays its bill: yes girls, in case you were expecting to be invited by the handsome blue eye local guy... FORGET! According to advised sources (ie my sister) years of intensive feminism activism got rid of the old fashion prince charming that used to invite you for diner in order to get in your panties. In Canada you will then commonly see the waiter bringing 2 separate bills to a happy couple.

#2 French Canadians are very nice people; for the grumpy/uptight/formal French girl that I am this is actually a very strange feeling. People would tell me "tu" instead of "vous" that is the traditional polite way to address to strangers.

#3 French Canadians LOVE Celine Dion. I will not make further comments on this painful reality.

#4 French Canadians don't speak English; I guess this is the only common characteristic shared with French people

#5 French Canada promotes immigration on TV (I think it's cool!)

#6 There are dangerous animals in Canada; if you think that Canada is not dangerous... well it is! Beside the bears (very scary) you might also face crazy squirrels, skunks, lots of different annoying bugs, really big mosquitoes...

#7 Canadians are always over prepared; this might have to do with point #6 but it's very common that Canadians (especially if they are on holiday) look like they are prepared to walk 70 days in a dry hostile desert
